There are many methods or tricks to improve everything in EG/EH hatchbacks. Like lowering the weight of the vehicle, lowering height from the ground, improving/lowering wind resistance to reduce aero-drag, and increasing the overall power that is applied to the wheels. With the 5th generation Civic Hatchback, the options are almost endless. The prices for updates are inexpensive compared to upgrades or improvements to any new vehicle nowadays in the 2000s.
